Position Summary

Guggenheim is seeking an exceptional candidate to join the Distribution team as the Distribution Operations Senior Manager. This person will be a stakeholder for Guggenheim Investments sales workflows and processes, product development operations, competitive analysis, reporting analytics, CRM workflow and enhancements, and sales tracking & reporting within the sales department.          

 

This position is located in New York with occasional travel to Stamford, CT office.

Essential Job Functions

Distribution Operations

  • Analyze, enhance, and optimizes distribution related workflows, policies, and procedures to reflect sales product innovation efforts
  • Develop new and/or enhanced standardized reporting processes
  • Plan and track throughout the year, commission plans, annual budgeting for conferences and overall T&E spend for all global distribution related functions
  • Maintain global pipeline of current and prospective clients across strategies
  • Ensure that various business development functions maintain calendars and CRM (Salesforce) of all prospecting meetings
  • Leads and manages a team that analyzes and monitors data/reports to ensure quality of and accurate transfer, integration, translation, and reporting of data, reacting promptly to data quality statistics and client inquiries
  • Project manager for all new and decommissioned product initiatives (i.e. SPVs, 40 Act Funds, Private Funds, UCITS, CLOs, etc.)
  • Provide subject matter expertise on business processes, data mapping, and system configurations of sales related data sets

 

Data, Analytics & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct, coordinate, and analyze internal data sets and market intelligence for internal clients; works with business unit managers to define reporting & analytic goals
  • Assist in developing proposals related to new types of distribution related data and how Guggenheim will integrate and analyze this data
  • Responsible for the peer analysis positioning of Guggenheim’s products in the marketplace

 

Sales Tracking & Reporting

  • Territory Channel Goal Setting - work with Distribution Management to use current sales data and current year run rates as part of the territory goal setting process
  • Track and report commission plan vs model
  • Create reporting and tracking mechanism for sales goals and track results
  • With Head of Distribution and Channel Managers, periodically review sales territories, and production and resources
  • Work with team to provide consistent sales reporting across the organization as well as support ongoing sales plan analysis and data stewardship
  • Provide analytical support required for the development and tracking of sales data, commissions, goal tracking, and campaigns for the Distribution team
  • Work with Distribution and Business Management to organize processes to set sales goals by product, channel, region, territory and sales person
  • Oversee a team responsible for:
    • Daily review of trade, identification, and other data received from multiple sources, including from: internal sales and contact management systems, internal shareholder trading systems, firm-supplied trade and identification files, and from internal sales management (including for territory re-alignment)
    • Research records flagged through automated stewardship; determine needed adjustments through lookup using internal stewardship, sales, trading, reporting, and other systems; Web searches; FINRA databases; and firm-supplied data. Call external firm contacts, internal sales management, etc. to resolve discrepancies where applicable

 

CRM System

  • Develops and maintains CRM documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Support sales CRM process improvement initiatives and develop actionable reports and dashboards for sales and business leadership
  • Creates and manages CRM reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide insights and recommendations to the sales leadership and other stakeholders
  • Analyze and document business processes and requirements for CRM system features and enhancements
  • Provide CRM training and coaching to sales and customer-facing teams
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and provide regular updates on the status and progress of the CRM system
  • Work with developers and testers to ensure that the CRM system meets the business and technical specifications
  • Assist with tracking, reporting, and analysis of data to measure the effectiveness of Distribution’s customer and distribution management programs
  • Ensure institutional and intermediary sales personnel are keeping Salesforce up-to-date and providing thorough content on all prospect and client interactions; review/maintain Salesforce
  • Enhance Guggenheim’s CRM database with third party external data to help generate new business opportunities, prospect lists and target segments

Preferred Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate will have or will be:

  • Demonstrable track record of contributing to the design of innovative, strategic investment products
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to negotiate with and influence senior management and fund boards
  • Delivery focused, driven, with high level of resilience
  • Ability to clearly communicate objectives across a range of stakeholders, including senior management and to articulate the rationale behind those goals
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time in a time pressured environment
  • Strong cross-functional team building and management skills (i.e. partnering with multiple distribution channels, marketing, finance, fund accounting and administration, legal and compliance)
  • Strong and proven leadership ability (i.e., influence, inspire people, while also working in a collaborative team culture)

Basic Qualifications

Must Have Qualifications:
  • Series 7 and Series 24; Series 79 to be obtained
  • At least 5-8+ years in a product development function
  • At least 3-5+ years in a sales role in wealth management or asset management
  • Have extensive proficient working knowledge of Salesforce
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience working with varied client types and knowledge of how client needs influence product design
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, specifically Fixed Income, including investor types, distribution channels, competitor landscape, investment products
  • In depth knowledge of pooled product structures including 40 Act, collective fund structures, interval funds and hedge funds is a plus
  • Commercial awareness of market dynamics, non-investment services (i.e. reporting & onboarding), market evolution and of competitive landscape to ensure that GI products remain fit for purpose
  • Strong written and verbal and presentation skills with the ability to summarize and articulate complex concepts to a senior/executive audience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Morningstar, Lipper, Bloomberg, Factset, eVestment
  • Strong project management experience

Salary Details

Annual base salary between $185,000 and $200,000.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.

 

Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­New York office at least 4 days per week with occasional travel to Stamford, CT office.
