Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join the Investment Operations team in a critical role supporting a new and dynamic investment product within the firm.  The Manager of Retail Separately Managed Account (SMA) Operations will manage and develop a team who will provide the oversight of outsourced operational functions as well as be the primary operations contact in the ongoing development of this product.  You will create and design comprehensive operational workflows to support the fixed income retail SMA business - which includes new account oversight, order placement, trades execution, allocation and reconciliation. The role involves working closely with Trading Desks, Portfolio Management, Compliance, Client Service and other Operations groups to ensure timely and accurate informational flow.

 

This position can be based in our Chicago or New York City office.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and implement onboarding sponsor firms onto the Archer IMS platform along with configuring the trade order workflow to the firm’s trade execution platform, BlackRock Solutions Aladdin.
  • Develop and manage a team to support the oversight of outsourced operational functions at Archer IMS as well as resolve any outstanding issues with the client’s account at the sponsor/custodian. 
  • Ensure operational functions and regulatory requirements are completed in adherence with policy and guidelines. 
  • Engage with internal partners to develop and expand this critical business including the implementation of new industry vendors related to order management. 
  • Drive the strategic vision within Operations to support the addition of new strategies and sponsors while implementing processes to efficiently, through scale, absorb increased volume.
  • Document procedures and controls as well as Key Process Indicators tracking the performance of relevant parties and risk elements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Archer IMS and other industry vendors in the retail SMA market. 
  • Strong operational background within Asset Management, particularly wealth management and retail separately managed account platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of operational functions, including account onboarding, order management, trade execution, confirmation and settlement as well as reconciliation, performance calculation and client reporting. 
  • Proficiency with income securities, including corporate bonds, MBS, Municipals, structured products and retail mutual funds.
  • Experience building and documenting procedures and controls around a functional operational workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, develop and lead an operational team and drive change effectively within an organization.
  • Collaboration and communication skills to interact effectively both internally and externally across all levels.

Basic Qualifications

  • Archer IMS and Blackrock Aladdin software experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 7-10 years of overall Operations experience/ Transition Operation /fixed income and/or middle office experience (account onboarding, order placement, trade execution and settlement, and reconciliation.)
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Excel proficiency and use of the Microsoft Office suite

Salary Details

Annual base salary between $112,500 and $125,000.

 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.

 

Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­New York or Chicago office at least 4 days per week.
