Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking a Structured Products Transaction Management Specialist to join a high performing team.  The Private Structured Products team is responsible for originating, developing, and executing 6-12 structured product transactions annually while concurrently surveilling 18-24 completed transactions.  This position is collaborative and cross-functional, but highly demanding and requires technical skills such as financial modeling and structuring.  In addition to investment acumen, a successful candidate will have interpersonal skills facilitating collaboration with portfolio managers, operations, and accounting.  This position is for a Senior Associate and will be co-located with and reporting to the Head of Structured Products Origination and Management in Chicago, IL.

Essential Job Functions

  • Learn structured products business and develop expertise in analysis, execution and management of structured transactions.
  • Responsible for support of senior originators in development and maintenance of relationships, evaluation of opportunities, development of transaction materials, processing and execution of transactions:
    • Research relating to sectors, counterparties and collateral assets of managed transactions;
    • Financial analysis and modeling of transactions;
    • Due Diligence reviews;
    • Preparation of investment memoranda and other presentation materials;
    • Assist in drafting and review of transaction documents;
    • Execution of transactions including liaison with transaction counterparties, rating agencies, banks, advisors and relevant operational, control and legal functions of Guggenheim Investments;
    • Analysis of and surveillance of transaction performance;
    • Evaluation, recommendation and implementation of amendment, restructuring, sale and unwind transactions; and
    • Support Portfolio Management, Client Service and other teams in execution and management of structured product investments.
  • The employee will note have not have sole responsibility but will function within the policies and procedures of Guggenheim Investments and within the management structure of Guggenheim Investments.
  • The employee will be responsible for developing and presenting modeling, documentation and presentation materials required to make and effect decisions under Guggenheim’s frameworks, directing and taking direction from the members of Guggenheim’s investment, legal, compliance, tax, accounting, operations and other management and administrative teams required to perform these activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progress toward FINRA Series 7, 63 and 79 licenses
  • CFA Level 2

Basic Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration or related field
  •  CFA Level 1
  • 6-7 (Senior Associate) years of experience in investment management or banking, including structured finance and SPV issuers.
  • Strong credit, finance, economic, business and technical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; exhibits intellectual curiosity
  • Does not work independently but is able to perform duties with guidance from more senior team members
  • Strong and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to performance and accuracy of work product
  • Team oriented individual with ability to work well with diverse and geographically dispersed groups
  • Sets and achieves individual goals

Salary Details

The annual base salary for this role is between $115,000 - $120,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
