Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Real Estate, the Real Estate Intern will gain broad experience in various aspects of commercial real estate development specifically focused on: real estate site analysis and modeling; internal pursuit processes, including preliminary site diligence and internal committee approvals; client relations; and real estate acquisition project management. This position will report on-site in our Frisco, TX offices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist Real Estate Analysts, Managers, and Directors in market research and overall pursuit of potential projects
  • Assist the Real Estate Managers and Directors in Real Estate Committee (REC) presentation preparation, distribution, and archiving
  • Monitor and analyze key demographic and economic trends in the assigned markets and report same to Real Estate Managers and Directors
  • Provide support to nation-wide “Deal Teams” (consisting of Real Estate, Development, Construction, Finance and Legal professionals) in order to complete site-specific real estate acquisitions
  • Participate in property tours with internal team, brokers, and clients
  • Assist in assorted ad hoc tasks as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Real estate experience is not required, but an understanding of general Real Estate concepts is preferred
  • Desire to work in the commercial real estate industry
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office; especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Keen attention to detail when preparing books for clients, REC, banks, and internal presentations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both teammates and stakeholders
  • Team player and adaptable to fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Excellent instincts, common sense, and professional judgment around confidentiality given sensitive nature of content

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years completed and pursuing a bachelor’s degree with preferred emphasis in Real Estate, Finance, or Business

OR

  • if Graduate student - currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a master’s degree with preferred emphasis in Real Estate, Finance, or Business

Salary Details

  • Base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience.
