Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking an exceptional Associate to join its Medical Device
Investment Banking team. Candidates will join a highly collaborative team responsible for providing
M&A advisory and capital raising service and capabilities to corporate clients. GS offers a unique
opportunity to work as part of small client teams on major strategic and financing assignments,
providing meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives. Candidates should be
top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative,
creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued. Associates pl ay an integral role
in evolving and enhancing client relationships and are active participants throughout the life of a
transaction and beyond.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and oversee financial analyses and help identify, research and analyze M&A and financing
    opportunities
  •  nteract with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants
  • Lead day-to-day project management and execution on a broad range of advisory and financing
    transactions
  • Perform client due diligence, prepare information memoranda and other transaction-related
    documentation
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, tools and intellectual property to aid business
    development activities of the firm
  • Conduct competitive research including identifying sector and industry trends
  • Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate
    recommendations to senior leadership
  • Build and develop relationships with clients through ongoing engagement and demonstration of industry
    and financial knowledge
  • Manage and develop junior staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • While not required, industry expertise in healthcare is preferred
  • Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and
    senior management
  • Solid interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to senior
    management and/or senior clients
  • A proven track record of high intellectual horsepower throughout academic and professional career
  • Intellectually curious with a passion to seek a deeper understanding of how organizations in all sectors
    perform best
  • Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a quantitatively rigorous field (e.g. investment banking, accounting,
    business development, strategy / M&A consulting)
  • Familiarity with M&A and Equity Capital Markets transactions
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Mastery of basic valuation and financial statement analysis

Salary Details

  • Annual base salary between $175,000 and $225,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­­­­New York office at least 4 days per week
