Position Summary

The Temporary Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for month end close and timely and accurate financial reporting across the business units. The role includes detailed activities such as recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and evaluation of new accounting standards. Additionally, this role will assist with internal and external reporting requirements. This is a hybrid position that will report in the Chicago office at least 2-3 days per week and will report to the Controller.

 

Please note this position will not be a direct hire for Guggenheim Partners - this position will be employed by an external/outsourced provider, that will provide support services to Guggenheim Partners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform daily/weekly cash management journal entries
  • Record journal entries during month end close process
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting/variance analysis reconciliations
  • Liaison with other groups across Guggenheim organization (treasury/accounts payable, tax, legal/compliance, financial reporting, and analysis)
  • Complete ad hoc projects alongside other accounting group members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA preferred
  • Public Accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • Detailed oriented, committed to quality and hard work
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products – especially Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and written & verbal presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize projects and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Assertive and proactive attitude toward assignments and in managing business relationships

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Work Location 
  • Currently, this role is expected to report in the Chicago office at least 2-3 days per week.
