Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is looking for a meticulous and well-organized candidate to join the Investment Management Operations department as a Pricing and Performance Associate. As an entry-level position, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Investment Pricing and Investment Performance. Reporting to the Operations Floating Team Lead, your main responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy of investment pricing, completing time-sensitive operational tasks, and managing investment performance reporting for a variety of portfolio strategies. We are seeking an ideal candidate who is exceptionally thorough in their work and possesses the confidence to proactively communicate with others, ensuring that work processes are carried out accurately and efficiently. This position is located in our downtown Chicago office.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as a versatile associate, performing essential tasks in both Pricing and Performance domains.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of pricing between the risk management and accounting systems, ensuring synchronization and making necessary updates in case of overrides.
  • Collaborate closely with fund administrators on a daily basis to calculate and provide pricing information that is not readily available from pricing vendors.
  • Price assets provided by vendors and proactively engage with pricing vendors to address challenges and clarify discrepancies.
  • Gather monthly vendor and dealer prices and consolidate them into the pricing database.
  • Generate investment performance analysis and reports for Clients, Portfolio Management, Distribution, Marketing, Research, and other Guggenheim Investments' business partners.
  • Calculate and compile investment performance and characteristics data needed for populating consultant marketing databases and client reports.
  • Prepare and analyze daily performance reports for portfolios containing diverse asset classes for senior management.
  • Assist in special projects and handle ad hoc requests as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in fixed income and/or middle office asset management
  • Possess a solid understanding of equities, fixed income securities, and derivatives.
  • Exceptional ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while upholding an unwavering commitment to meticulous attention to detail and efficient task prioritization.
  • Extensive expertise in Excel, including advanced proficiency in handling large data sets (such as V-lookup and Pivot Tables), and a demonstrated ability to create and customize data reconciliation tools within the Excel environment, showcasing a high level of skill and adaptability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Preferably hold an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, demonstrating a solid educational foundation.
  • Possess valuable work experience in the financial services industry, showcasing practical knowledge and familiarity with industry practices.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, with a particular emphasis on Excel, displaying advanced skills and capabilities in spreadsheet management and data analysis.

Salary Details

Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience.

 

Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­Chicago office at least 4 days per week.
