Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking a candidate versed in CLOs and structured products to join the Loan Services business function to lead Private Fund and CLO Operations. Reporting to the Senior Managing Director of Loan Services, the individual is accountable for operational aspects of CLO structures including managing a small team. In the role one works closely with, but not limited to, Traders, Portfolio Managers, Credit Analysts, Custodian/Trustee Banks, Fund Administrators, and Rating Agencies. The role presents opportunities to further develop and broaden one’s bank loan industry knowledge. To be successful in this role, ideally one possesses an understanding of bank debt and fixed income securities, is versed in partnering at all levels with both internal and external parties and thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

 


The position may be based in either our New York, NY or Chicago, IL offices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and oversee staff to ensure accurate completion of all modeling and ongoing maintenance of CLO structures including overseeing closing mechanics and coordination of on-boarding new CLOs or other private fund/private debt structures
  • Define, implement, and monitor formal processes to meet investment guidelines standards established by internal and external Auditors
  • Review and understand governing documents for transactions such as investment guidelines, trigger dates, covenants and management fee/waterfall calculations including calculating sub-advised CLO management fees
  • Provide responses to due diligence/RFP requests which includes coordinating with Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Client Service teams and organizing historical CLO metrics
  • Provide revenue and redemption analysis including ad hoc proforma analysis for internal Accounting and Portfolio Management teams
  • Manage and approve cash movements related to warehouse borrowings and cash movements for certain private funds expenses
  • Provide investor data upon request and project CLO liability payments

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of CLO-related and/or structured product experience; and an understanding of bank debt and fixed income securities
  • Strong skills to analyze and manage large sets of interconnected data and information
  • Experience in designing, documenting, and participating in implementing processes
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external clients and service providers
  • Operational knowledge of both broadly syndicated and Middle Market CLO structures, leverage facilities, warehouses, and other structured products
  • Ability to navigate legal documents such as Indentures, Credit Agreements, Loan Servicing Agreements, Collateral Management Agreements, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • In addition to CLO-related experience, must have at least five years of relevant work experience in investment management or financial services environment
  • Knowledge of Wall Street Office, Aladdin, and/or Bloomberg
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel skills

Salary Details

Annual base salary between $150,000 and $180,000.

 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
