Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking an exceptional Junior FX/Rates Trader to join its Funding team.

Reporting to the Head FX Trader, this person will be responsible for assisting the Foreign Exchange

and Rates traders.  This position will require position monitoring, risk management and reporting, as

well as constant communication with internal traders, trading counterparties and operations.

Incumbents are investment professionals having excellent communication skills, strong aptitude in

math, and excellent attention to detail. The Junior FX/Rates Trader position is located in Santa Monica.

Essential Job Functions

  • Produce daily reports on portfolio exposures, transactions, and other market related information
  • Assist with daily foreign exchange and rates trading, as well as monthly foreign exchange hedge

  • Help to develop, implement, and monitor risk metrics and reporting material focused on foreign
  • exchange and rate products
  • Expand and maintain relationships with trading counterparties as well as individuals from internal teams (middle/back office) who play a vital part in daily processes
  • Willing to take on and drive projects with the intention of continuous process improvement
  • Develop automated reporting solutions utilizing MS Excel and programming skills
  • Staying up to date on current market events and macroeconomics
  • Ad hoc reporting and data gathering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progression towards the CFA Charter is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Blackrock Solutions Aladdin system is a plus
  • 1-2 years working on a foreign exchange and government bond trading environment (buy side
  • or sell side)
  • Strong technical background with a working knowledge of markets and related analytics
  • High-level understanding of foreign exchange and interest rate markets
  • Exceptional MS Excel (VBA/SQL programming) and Bloomberg skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary Details

The annual base salary for this role is between $100,000 - $115,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
