Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking experienced Analysts to join its Private Capital Advisory team in New York. The Private Capital Advisory team is focused on executing sponsor-led secondary transactions across the private markets (e.g., private equity, private credit, real assets). Secondary transaction mandates can include single- and multi-asset continuation funds, tender offers, strip sales, NAV loans and various other financing solutions for general partners. Sponsor-led secondaries are an innovative and increasingly utilized liquidity solution for private equity firms and, as such, Private Capital Advisory is a rapidly growing and critically important strategic initiative for Guggenheim Securities.

 

Candidates will join a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial team that works in partnership with industry bankers and coverage teams on its transactions. GS Private Capital Advisory offers a unique opportunity to work on deal teams with meaningful exposure to senior bankers across Guggenheim and leading financial sponsor clients. Analysts play an integral role in transaction execution and new business development for major secondaries advisory assignments. Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients and lawyers
  • Interface with industry banking professionals and contribute to the development of financial models and valuation analyses
  • Perform company- and fund-level due diligence, prepare information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation
  • Conduct secondary market research including identifying trends in the alternatives investment industry
  • Manage secondary investor outreach and due diligence (e.g., sponsor roadshows, management team meetings, site visits)
  • Assist in preparing responses to due diligence requests from potential secondary investors
  • Communicate regularly with Guggenheim’s industry and investor coverage professionals
  • Track market data to assist the group’s communications with clients and industry coverage teams
  • Maintain a database of secondary investor profiles, investment strategies, feedback and interests

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robust multi-tasking and organizational skills with consistent attention to detail
  • Profound dedication to the role (i.e., desire to take ownership of deliverables)
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking skills with the ability to improvise effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills (including verbal, written, and illustrative)

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant professional experience (e.g., investment banking, alternatives investment management, private equity consulting)
  • Core modeling and valuation experience in professional setting
  • SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
  • Prvaite equity secondaries experience is seen as beneficial
  • Significant level of maturity and ability to interface effectively with senior professionals at financial sponsors, portfolio companies and secondaries investors
  • Desire to work on a wide range of secondary projects across different alternative asset classes and industry verticals

Salary Details

  • Annual base salary between $110,000 and $130,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­­­­New York office at least 4 days per week.
