Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join to join our Compliance group. This position will be responsible for client compliance functions including new prospect approvals, lobbyist registrations, and supporting the RFP and DDQ review process. 

 

The ideal candidate will be diligent, self-motivated, and experienced working with various stakeholders across all functions.

 

The position is based in our New York Office, but could also be based out of our Chicago or Santa Monica office. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for all RIA Client Compliance functions, including but not limited to: New Prospect/Opportunity Compliance approval, lobbyist registration, assist the RFP team with Compliance related responses, represent Compliance in due diligence meetings, review and negotiate Investment Management Agreements, review and execution of client compliance reporting including Compliance Certificates and DDQs, draft client guideline waiver requests and directed trade letters and providing training to Institutional Client Service personnel as needed.
  • Review of materials for external distribution to existing RIA clients (e.g. presentations describing potential client transactions, other miscellaneous presentations and commentary that falls outside the scope of marketing materials)
  • Lead the RIA Investor Relations group - review and approval of responses to client/prospect DDQ requests on sensitive subject matter, including regulatory exams, regulatory investigations and litigation.
  • Draft and issue admonishment letters for employees who violate firm Compliance policies, other than Code of Ethics violations.
  • Review and edit policies and procedures
  • Prepare training materials
  • Maintain the Regulatory Developments tracker for RIAs.
  • Manage a team  responsible for Registered Investment Advisor (“RIA”) Compliance Assessment and Conflicts Inventory, Compliance Testing and Compliance Client Reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD preferred
  • Experience with staff management
  • Strong communications skills and team building focus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with compliance, legal and business teams in New York and Chicago during east coast work hours
  • Understanding and familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 required; knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and ERISA is a plus

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years of Institutional Compliance experience with a registered invetment advisor
  • Demonstrated success performing compliance assessments, compliance testing, and client compliance reporting

Salary Details

Annual base salary between $190,000 and $210,000.


The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
