Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking an exceptional individual to join its Distribution team.  This Director-level position will be responsible for supporting the broader sales team by developing a pipeline of prospective Insurance industry clients, specifically within the Property & Casualty and Life and Health segments, with the purpose of winning mandates from new or existing clients.  The employee will regularly collaborate with the Investment Management team on both developing sales pitches to prospective clients as well as providing vital client servicing functions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills, multi-tasking ability, initiative, and a team-oriented mindset.  Prior experience with an insurance company, ratings agency, or investment management business and a firm understanding of Fixed Income instruments are critical to success in this position.  The candidate must be comfortable interacting with prospective and existing clients, as well as internal stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

·         Build the Guggenheim Investments brand in the Property and Casualty and Life and Health Insurance Distribution Channel by delivering effective presentations promoting the firm’s investment platform and competitive advantages.
·         Perform proactive sales calls, in person or virtual meetings, and sales campaigns promoting Guggenheim Investments with the goal of raising and retaining assets.  Able to pair the client or prospect’s investment model and guidelines with offered investment products and solutions.
·         Develop and maintain an annual pipeline of prospects and focus on converting them to clients.
·         Maintain insurance industry expertise with comprehensive knowledge of complex regulation, tax, GAAP, and statutory accounting guidance, as well as asset/liability management issues in order to position customized investment mandates considering client and prospect earnings, taxes, and liquidity guidelines.
·         Serve as the firm-wide subject matter expert for the Property and Casualty and Life and Health insurance distribution marketplace. 
·         Produce and publish a quarterly industry update for both internal and external use.
·         Follow insurance industry regulatory developments and trends through participation in NAIC calls and meetings, as well as maintaining relationships with industry participants.
·         Serve as a key contact on general insurance industry trends and regulatory developments, working closely with and advising the Insurance PM team on insurance industry matters.
·         Serve as a cross-functional team member bridging Distribution, Portfolio Management, and Client Services.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Extensive knowledge of the Property and Casualty and Life and Health Insurance marketplace. 
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to articulate and simplify complex concepts.
·         Extensive experience building relationships and converting prospect relationships to valued clients. 
·         Problem solving skills with ability to independently lead or participate on assigned projects.
·         Ability to effectively multi-task in a dynamic environment.
·         Deliver effective formal and informal presentations.
·         Knowledge of fixed income strategies and insurance portfolio management.
·         Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
·         MBA and/or CFA is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial insurances industry, preferably in insurance asset management and/or client relationship management role.
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably with a concentration in Marketing, or Business, Finance, Economics, and related fields.
