Position Summary

Guggenheim Partners is seeking a Compensation Manager to join the Human Resources team.  Reporting to the Global Head of Total Rewards this person will be responsible for all Human Resources aspects of communication design implementation and administration of the Company’s cash and deferred compensation programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to all Guggenheim businesses on total compensation related issues managing the Company’s compensation benchmarking process and ensuring the Company is providing market competitive total compensation packages. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing and administering deferred compensation programs.


The Compensation position will be located in New York.

Essential Job Functions

  • Report to the Global Head of Total Rewards leading a team of two Compensation Coordinators responsible for the HR compensation function for the Company.
  • Administer annual year end preparation and delivery of total compensation statements to all employees of the Company including recommendation and implementation of continuous improvements to the process.
  • Coordinate with Finance group to administer the annual deferred compensation grant award process for the Company to ensure accurate communication of various deferred compensation plan awards.
  • Partner with Business Unit and Legal group on amendments to deferred compensation plan documentation to ensure plans aligned with Business objectives and competitive with the external market.
  • Responsible for the Company’s external compensation benchmarking process which includes assisting HR Business Partners and business unit leaders to ensure accurate matching managing relationship with external benchmarking consultant assisting with ad hoc custom matching and meeting with business leaders to discuss survey results and provide guidance on various compensation matters.
  • Partner with external deferred compensation plan administrators to ensure accurate updating and reporting of deferred compensation plans and awards for participants.
  • Ensure all ad hoc compensation related requests from employees and other internal stakeholders are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide compensation and leveling input and analysis during hiring process.
  • Address all employee questions on compensation related matters.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources with 5+ years of experience in compensation plan design administration or consulting within the financial services industry or professional services
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
  • Strong business communications both written and oral and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly accurate work output
  • Ability to coordinate and accomplish multiple priorities
  • Work as part of a team and deliver excellent customer service

  • Ability to work independently initiate and identify solutions.
  • Provide strong analytical skills sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCP (or equivalent compensation certification)
  • Experience and understanding of an HRIS system preferably Workday
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (or similar area of study)
