Asset Consulting Group has a long history of capital markets research and asset class modeling for its clients. We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst to perform economic research develop capital market assumptions and create asset allocation models relevant to specific client accounts. This individual will work in conjunction with other Research Analysts and support client service efforts of the Consultants and Portfolio Analysts.
This position is located in St. Louis.
Primary responsibilities will include:
-Prepare periodic capital markets publications including:
-Prepare special correspondence relating to market events
-Present materials and market information to Investment Committee as needed
-Participate in outside events as speaker/presenter as appropriate
-Develop and execute asset class models to calculate asset class input assumptions
-Create custom models for special assumptions as needed
-Aid in the ongoing update management and enhancement of the asset allocation modeling tool
-Participate in the Capital Markets Sub-Committee and prepare all necessary materials to address issues raised
Secondary responsibilities will include:
Asset/Liability Modeling
-Enhance tools and techniques to model assets and liabilities for client portfolios
-Enhance tools and techniques to support custom modeling needs for insurance clients
-Identify and document potential investment strategies based on asset/liability modeling results (e.g. LDI)
-Prepare policy guidelines relating to investment strategies
-Develop custom glide path guidelines
-Create custom asset/liability studies for clients as needed
-Prepare education materials for relevant topics
Client Relationship Management
-Maintain responsibility for select list of clients
-Support consultants in management of clients as needed
-Provide education materials and present in client meetings
-Participate in new business opportunities as needed
-Process Improvement
-Work with team members to identify technology solutions to improve research efforts
-Coordinate and enhance data collection and sharing among external databases internal systems and across teams
-Develop reporting tools to help analysts identify manager issues in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
-Significant experience developing modeling tools to perform asset allocation analyses identify and evaluate investment managers and monitor client and manager portfolio activities.
-Experience working independently as well as providing leadership and directing efforts of team members.
-Ability to work with a variety of internal and external constituents to identify accessible solutions for complex problems.
-Experience communicating with clients prospects investment managers and other investment-related parties.
-Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing; excellent attention to detail.
-Genuine interest for capital markets investment analysis and process improvement.
-Proactive approach and active listener/interpreter
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
-Ability to travel on a regular basis including overseas.
-Position may require up to 25% travel
Basic Qualifications:
-CFA Charterholder
-Minimum of 10 years of experience working in investment-related fields.
